What can I say? I was raised Southern Baptist, and you don't overcome that sort of upbringing easily. Anyhow, Rachel swears enough for two bloggers, so it all balances out, I suppose.
Your mother reads your blog, and that may hamper you a bit. Whatever the reason, I'm very proud of you!
It also has a lot to do with the inherent conversational proclivities of your target audience, Pat. Despite extensive higher education, I am a living example of "the trailer park" cliche.

I was so tempted to engage in some treachery/trollery by adding a blip on your cuss-o-meter, you know, a random f-bomb outlier, but I just can't after seeing your mom's post. It's a Pavlovian response -- I think about cussing, see the word mom, start to salivate and my mind's eye forcibly injects images of me at 12, vomiting Irish Spring chunklets (shudder).
